Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation Powwow - March 18th, 2006Several of our new friend invited us to attend the annual powwow on the reservation. It was held at the Indian Casino and was very interesting and a lot of fun. Maureen and I have both enjoyed getting to know more about the native cultures and traditions through some of our new friends and have learned to appreciate some of their ways and even try to incorporate them in our own lives.
A personal note: I am very apprehensive and cautious regarding anything Native American that I come in contact with because I am both ignorant and have a desire to show respect. As a "white man", I am astonished at how willingly Native ways have been shared with me and am grateful for the opportunities I have had to learn and grow as a result. These gifts I have been given I hold as sacred and the last thing I want to do is offend. So what am I trying to say here anyway? If anyone has any problems with anything in any of these photos for any reason, please let me know and I will gladly remove them from this page. Just click here and let me know. If I offend it is purely out of ignorance and I will gladly correct the problem. Thanks for your help and understanding!

Right off the bat I have to apologize for the blurry photos. The action was fast and the lighting was poor. Never-the-less, I think some of the most blurred photos do the best job of showing all of the bright colors and intense action. This truly was an amazing experience!
