January 23rd: Memphis and Beale Street

Amazingly enough, we survived our Sunday drive from Orlando, Florida and actually arrived late that night in Memphis, Tennessee, against all odds.  Memphis provides an interesting contrast between the poor folks and their culture that created the now world famous blues music and the rich folks on the other side of town that exploited it.  Both are very interesting to see and experience.  We were here on a cold winter morning and therefore had Beale Street almost exclusively to our selves.  It was a sight not many people get to experience, I would imagine.
