January 22nd: Memphis or Bust

We left Orlando, Florida on Sunday morning and pushed on all the way to Memphis, Tennessee in order to have some time to check out a few things and make our scheduled arrival at our friend Darren's house in Tulsa.  It was a long drive with some terrible weather around Birmingham, Alabama, where we got really lost in some very bad parts of town and then ended up driving through the woods and mountains for quite a while on little roads before we found our route again.

Most of our drive through Alabama happened at night so

there are not many photos.  However, there was a beautiful

sunset although it was hard to capture from a moving vehicle.

The rest of our drive from Unadilla to the

Alabama border was uneventful

The first town we stopped in in Georgia was Unadilla.

It was a very sad sight as many were many similar

places along our trip.
